Building Services Design
At CES, the principles of sustainable development underpin all our building services. We adopt a holistic approach to building design. We implement sustainability measures that meet environmental performance standards while providing a safe and healthy environment for occupants.
Our approach to building services design is rooted in our three core disciplines of sustainability, mechanical and electrical engineering. Our building services consultants integrate these disciplines through all stages of development. By combining engineering and design skills, we create sustainable buildings that are tailored to our client’s requirements.
While innovative technologies have been implemented in the design of new green structures for some time, the common objective of sustainable construction should be to reduce the overall environmental impact of the built environment. As such, it’s equally important to exploit technology to refurbish and reduce the carbon footprint of existing buildings.
CES are working closely with the Royal Shakespeare Company on the design for their new costume and jewellery workshop in Stratford upon Avon. The front of the building is grade one listed and as such, must be retained. The environment and ventilation also need to be modernised to achieve thermal comfort through passive operation, thereby minimising energy consumption and enhancing operational sustainability.
2019 is set to be another busy and exciting year for us in sustainable building design. We aim to design the best, most efficient and most applicable solutions for any development. By combining engineering and design skills, we create buildings that strike the correct balance between aesthetics and energy and cost efficiency.
Sustainable development is a global challenge and the switch to cleaner, more resilient construction plays an essential role. Join us in 2019 and we’ll ensure sustainability is a priority for your next building project.
