The dynamic software is more commonly used on commercial properties as opposed to residential schemes and offers much more accuracy when analysis a building sustainability.
This is partly due to a higher examination of external factors such as the effect of glazing, solar gains and thermal mass, as well as behavioural and energy use profiles of the occupiers. If a building design is complex or has an unusual heating, cooling or ventilation systems, then it would most likely benefit from having DSM analysis performed on it to help make improvements to those systems.
It underpins a great deal of the technical work we do at CES. We use the latest software that models buildings dynamically in 3 dimensions and produces hourly data for a simulated year.
This gives us the information required to make educated decisions on building and development design, to help offer the best solutions for a building’s requirements.
