Thermal modelling lets us understand the likely thermal and energy-related performance based on a design. This helps to make fundamental decisions to improve a building design and see where there are possible reductions to be achieved in both development and heating running costs.
We also use thermal modelling to predict comfort conditions of a building throughout the year and to establish likely energy demands. Together with associated CO2 emissions, these energy requirements can then be fed into sustainability or planning reports. It further ensures that the most appropriate heating equipment can be selected, working at its most efficient and providing energy efficiency and occupant comfort to the development.
Whilst renewable heating systems are often more expensive to install, they do offer energy savings and renewal heat incentive (RHI) payments to help recoup the upfront cost. It’s therefore essential to consider the long-term cost/benefits of any renewable heat source. Many renewable heating systems have space implications, our design and installation experience can help find innovative solutions to such difficulties.
